Something big is happening in "Jane the Virgin" when it returns for its third run.

Gina Rodriguez's Jane Gloriana Villanueva is finally losing her virginity this fall. After marriage and motherhood, it is high time it happens to the much loved character. Fans are wondering though what's going to happen to the show's title when that finally happens next season. Another important question is: Who gets to be the lucky guy? Avid viewers of the show also want to know when it is likely to happen. Will it be at the premiere or finale of season 3?

The show's executive producer, Jennie Snyder Urman, spilled all the juicy details during an interview with ET at the ATX TV Festival in Austin, Texas earlier this month.

"Yes, yes, yes -- it's happening!" the EP confirmed. "She'll lose her virginity this year for sure."

Urman made it clear that it will be happening neither during the season 3 premiere nor the finale episode. She explained that she did not want to make it that big a moment by putting "too much pressure" on it because it was not essentially what the core of the show was all about.

She said she is not sure yet how it is going to transpire, although she has a lot of ideas about it. She is ruminating on "how big to make it" as well as the obstacles that will arise from it. It would seem that it's not just "Jane the Virgin" fandom that is excited about this huge step in Villanueva's character "growing up." Urman herself expressed her anticipation as well as her nervousness for this expected moment, mainly because she said she wanted it to go down well.

It seems that she had this all mapped out though, since she already knew what she will do about the show's title, which would no longer be true once Villanueva does lose her virginity.

She remarked, "We'll cross out 'the Virgin' and then we'll continue on. I think it will always say Jane the Virgin and then we'll just cross it off each time."

As to who the heroine will lose her virtue to, the show's boss said that it will probably be Michael Cordero (Brett Dier), Villanueva's new husband. It is remembered that the pair got married last season, but Cordero got shot by Sin Rostro, who was disguised as the former's partner. So Villanueva's husband is now in a coma, and it would probably take months for him to recover.

This means Villanueva's deflowering may have to wait.

"After something so traumatic, can you still hold on to your sense of magic a little bit? It's continuing that move from fantasy to reality," according to Urman.
