It looks like "Jane the Virgin" season 3 would be dealing with more than just Mike's fate and Jane's unconsummated wedding night. As spoilers show, the third installment could also focus on Xo's pregnancy and her romance with Rogelio.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Jane the Virgin's" executive producer Jennie Urman Snyder said Xiomara (Andrea Navedo) might consider abortion after she got pregnant with a baby she doesn't want with a man she doesn't love.

"She doesn't want to have a baby so that's definitely going to be something that we dive into," she told THR when discussing Xo's storyline in the upcoming season.

However, with abortion being a delicate subject to touch on for a comedy-drama series, fans could expect that the heavy plot would be touched in the way "Jane the Virgin" has always dealt with such matters – light-hearted but sensitive. Viewers have already seen that when Jane's (Gina Rodriguez) "miraculous" pregnancy was tackled.

Meanwhile, Navedo talked to Cosmopolitan, where she briefly revealed some things about her character.

"I think that Xiomara is going to start to make more strides in the future in terms of maturity and in terms of just growing as a person," she said in the interview. The actress also said that Xo's growth as a person could lead to a marriage to Rogelio (Jaime Camil) in the future, even if the just-concluded season saw them apart.

In related news, Rogelio could be fighting tooth and nail for a right to star in the American adaptation of his series "The Passions of Santos" after his show ends. According to Movie News Guide, the purported titled of the US adaptation of the fictional telenovela would be called "The Passions of Steve". The upcoming season would reveal if Rogelio would succeed in securing the role.

"Jane the Virgin" season 3 will start airing on Monday, Oct. 17 at 9 p.m. on The CW.
