Jeremy Lin injury update news: Brooklyn Nets point guard to return to action 'pretty soon'
Brooklyn nets point guard Jeremy Lin has been "out of commission" for the last 15 games since he suffered a hamstring injury last Nov. 2 during a game against the Detroit Pistons at the Barclays Center. However, according to reports, Lin has gone through shooting drills on Tuesday, Dec. 6, and he may be returning to action in the near future.
Nets insider Bryan Fonseca posted on Twitter that the Nets are cautious with Lin's recovery despite the point guard being able to do some shooting drills already.
The Nets previously announced, following his hamstring injury, that Lin would be re-evaluated after two weeks. Two weeks went by, but no announcement about Lin's condition was issued. One month later, and the Nets have yet to divulge the timetable for Lin's comeback this season.
However, on Dec. 5, Nets general manager Sean Marks mentioned during his Facebook Live interview that Lin was "progressing" and that he expects the point guard to return "pretty soon."
"Jeremy is one of the most competitive people I've ever seen," Marks said and added: "I don't think he'll mind me saying this but he said, 'I'm used to proving people wrong. It's what I've done my whole life, so I'm going to prove people wrong with this injury.' And I said, 'look let's just take your time.'"
"He's so vocal, still at practice, in the locker room and has been from day one when he was out with his injury. He's progressing well. I obviously don't want to put a time limit or a day, but I suspect it pretty soon," Marks stated in the interview.
Lin signed a three-year contract worth $38 million with the Nets and has so far appeared in the first five games of the season. With his participation, the Nets began the season 2–3. However, because of his hamstring injury, he has been sidelined for the last 15 ball games. Since then, the Nets are at the bottom of the eastern conference for a second consecutive season at 5–15.
