Jeremy Lin news 2016: Stars in long form YouTube comedy video 'Space Jam 3'

As basketball fans await news of a possible "Space Jam 2" starring LeBron James, new Brooklyn Nets point guard Jeremy Lin has gone ahead and made a "Space Jam 3."

Lin, a social media icon known for his love of longform YouTube comedy videos, and his friend Ryan Higa, a popular YouTube personality, teamed up to offer a spoof of the original "Space Jam."

In Lin and Higa's "Space Jam 3," Lin replaces Michael Jordan and is teleported into an alternate cartoon reality populated by famous anime characters such as Naruto, Yugi from "Yu-Gi-Oh!," Sailor Moon, and Goku from "Dragon Ball Z." Like Jordan in "Space Jam," he has to teach the ragtag group of misfit heroes how to play basketball.

The video features various homages to the 1996 Jordan starrer mixed with various Lin twists. While Jordan was transported into the alternate Loony Tunes world after being pulled through a hole on a golf course, Lin is taken to the alternate anime world by playing a video game. In "Space Jam 3," Lin showcases a hair product called Jeremy's Secret Stuff, a spoof of Michael's Secret Stuff in "Space Jam."

Meanwhile, Atlanta Hawks point guard Jarrett Jack maintains that he was not throwing shade at Lin when he tweeted a "Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah" about 20 minutes after Lin announced that he had signed with the Nets.

Lin's fans had accused Jack of mocking the Nets' choice after the team had waived him and then given Lin a $36 million contract.

In an interview with ESPN, Jack said that his tweet had nothing to do with Lin. "I haven't reached out to J-Lin, but hopefully he doesn't think it was (any bitterness on my part)," he said. "What would even be funny about that? I think J-Lin is damn good. I thought he was tremendous in Houston when they were hitting all those 3-pointers, and then in Charlotte, he played his ass off during the playoffs."
