Filming for "The Defenders" miniseries has started, and the set photos appear to shed some light on what to expect in "Jessica Jones" season 2 as well.

Much like "Daredevil" season 3, the new season of "Jessica Jones" will be affected by how things turn out in the miniseries, which will feature Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones).

The photos from the set reveal that Simone Missick will reprise her role in "Luke Cage" as Misty Knight in "The Defenders." In fact, one image shows her holding Jessica at gunpoint.

It is now being rumored that Misty Knight's involvement will extend in "Jessica Jones" season 2 although nothing has been confirmed about that yet.

As far as the comics go, there is nothing much that connects these two characters, but as far as the Netflix shows are concerned, Luke Cage links them as they are both romantically involved with him.

Whatever that comes out of what appears to be a heated confrontation between Jessica and Misty in "The Defenders" is expected to be brought into play in "Jessica Jones" season 2.

It is a mystery at this time if this will actually require Misty Knight to make an appearance in "Jessica Jones," but the shows set to be much more interconnected after the miniseries opens the possibility of characters popping up here and there all across the shows.

"Jessica Jones" season 2 is expected to focus more on the supporting characters as well as the relationship they have with the titular character particularly the one with Trish Walker (Rachael Taylor).

Jessica will not deal with a villain like Kilgrave (David Tennant) this season, but she will face the aftermath of what her psycho ex-boyfriend did to her.

"Jessica Jones" season 2 is not expected to premiere until 2018.
