'Jurassic World 2' release date, plot news: J.A. Bayona reveals production update for upcoming sequel
Details about the "Jurassic World 2" remains scarce, but film director J.A Bayona has a valid excuse for the lack of information about the upcoming sequel.
The film director talked about the progress of the upcoming film in an interview with Collider as he promotes his other film "A Monster Calls." According to Bayona, he and the rest of the people behind the upcoming sequel wants to make sure that they can offer the best story for the fans.
"We're writing the second chapter. And the challenge is always to find the balance between what the audience is expecting, and to surprise them. And we're writing to it right now," Bayona stated in the interview.
But while Bayona opted not to keep mum about the details of the upcoming film, his previous interview with ComingSoon.net revealed that the new film will be a lot different compared to the other films in the "Jurassic Park" franchise.
"It's so different from the other films, it talks a lot about the moment we live in right now, the director stated in the interview published in early December 2016. It's darker ... but at the same time it's going to be a lot of fun. It's a blockbuster, you have Chris Pratt, it's a great adventure, but it's very interesting the way the film is darker than the other ones," the director said.
Movie Pilot revealed one of the theories for the upcoming plot of "Jurassic World 2." According to the report, the "Jurassic World" big bad Indominus Rex may be more intelligent compared to the other dinosaur species because it was created with a mixture of human DNA.
The theory claimed that the hybrid specie was able to come up with plans to outsmart the humans because it is smart enough to think for itself. Speculations claimed that the human-dinosaur hybrid could be featured in the plot of "Jurassic World 2."
Universal Pictures will release "Jurassic World 2" in cinemas on June 22, 2018.
