In a sudden turn of events, a multiplayer mod support for "Just Cause 3" is now available for PC gamers to download through the game's official website.

Dubbed the "JC3:MP," the mod allows players online to band together via a single server to play "Just Cause 3" either against each other or cooperatively. Various gameplays are also available to explore including partaking in races, deathmatches, as well as other activities.

It is no secret that since "Just Cause 3" was first released in December 2015, the development of its multiplayer mods has gone back and forth. Just last summer, the fan-made mod has been canceled as lead developer Cameron Foote explained that there was just too much on his plate at that time prompting him to drop the project.

"Unfortunately, due to time constraints, neither I or the rest of the team can actively pursue development on JC3-MP; our lives are just too busy to allow for it right now," he wrote on the project's official forum website. "While we're not actively adding new features, we will fix bugs, maintain stability, and ensure that JC2-MP remains a quality experience for players present and future," he added.

It is important to note that despite its current availability, development of the "JC3: MP" is still very much ongoing. According to the game FAQs, the beta release is just accessible through the game's official website but once work is done, it could potentially be headed to Steam in the future. Those who wish to sample the mod will only have to download the multiplayer mod installer and install it in any directory before it can be launched. System requirements are also pretty simple as it is basically the same for "Just Cause 2" plus a running Steam and to be logged into an account for "Just Cause 3." No official date when the beta version will stay online or when will the official multiplayer feature will land the game.
