'Justice League' release date, news: Wonder Woman is going to be 'fully evolved' in 'Justice League'
Before Diana Prince/Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) appears in "Justice League," fans will get to see her venture out on her own in "Wonder Woman." The standalone film is supposed to give viewers a look at the character's origin story, and it will show a less experienced Wonder Woman come face-to-face with the horrors of war.
The naïve, idealistic Amazonian warrior is going to feel disillusioned after witnessing all the bloodshed and horrors that man is capable of, but her views on humanity are going to develop by the time they form the Justice League.
In an interview with USA Today, producer Zack Snyder revealed that viewers would see a "fully evolved" Wonder Woman in "Justice League," thanks in part to Superman's (Henry Cavil) sacrifice in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."
"Humanity isn't always the most kind and awesome thing. It has its moments, but it can be brutal, and her coming to terms with that dichotomy is what we come to learn about her. And in Justice League, she's fully evolved into someone who's embraced mankind, partly through Superman's sacrifice. She's like, 'All right, I've got to pick it up.'"
Well, looks like Bruce Wayne/Batman (Ben Affleck) isn't the only who got his faith in humanity restored after witnessing Superman's sacrifice. It's good to hear that Diana has learned to embrace human nature despite its flaws. Fans probably don't want to see another brooding superhero. Batman already has that role covered.
In "Justice League," Bruce and Diana are going to enlist the help of Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) in order to deal with the threat of Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds). Superman may have died in "Dawn of Justice," but everyone knows that he's going to come back from the dead in this film.
"Justice League" is scheduled to hit cinemas on Nov. 17.
