The Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, and the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, might welcome their second child earlier than previously expected. Although the baby's due date was initially projected to be late April 2015, it seems now that the baby may arrive as early as the first week of April or possibly mid-April.

The Duchess's second pregnancy was announced on Sept. 8, 2014. As with her first pregnancy, Kate suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum and was required to cancel official engagements early in the pregancy. Hyperemesis gravidarum is a complication of pregnancy characterized by intractable nausea, vomiting and dehydration. Malnutrition, and other serious complications such as fluid or electrolyte imbalances may result.

However, as the pregnancy wore on, Kate's health has returned to normal.

However, there are new concerns being raised about her still having a very busy calendar for public appearances at this stage in her pregnancy. Reports say Kate will continue her rigorous schedule up until the middle of March, after which, she will rest and prepare for the arrival of the baby.

But with the potential earlier delivery, this would leave her with just a few weeks which would not be enough for her to fully regain her strength for the delivery and care of the newborn.

Another question in everyone's mind is of course the gender of the baby. The couple maintains that the gender of their second child will remain a mystery until he or she is born in April. But with the couple already having their hands full with precocious George, their eldest, born on July 22, 2013, people are hoping for a girl this time around.

Some experts are predicting a girl based on the size and shape of Kate's baby bump now, as compared to her first pregnancy with George. What Kate has confirmed is that the baby moves and kicks all the time.
