Kate Plus 8 news update: Raising 8 teens and preteens is as hard as raising 8 babies, Kate says

Mother of eight, Kate Gosselin, recently expressed her feelings about raising her teenagers and preteens. The "Kate Plus 8" reality star stressed that raising slightly older kids is just as difficult as raising eight babies.

The reality star, who recently returned to the small screen with "Kate Plus 8," went in for an interview with People. She told the news outlet about what it's like to raise two 16-year olds and six 12-year olds. Although her kids are significantly older, Kate admitted that their present situation is not much of a difference from when she was raising the sextuplets' during their first years. "It rivals that first year for the first time ever," she said.

According to the mother of eight, she harnesses strength from her memories of raising eight young children. Her memories of surviving the very first year of the sextuplets' lives is giving her encouragement to carry on with her everyday life. To keep herself from breaking down, she often utters inspiring words to herself. She said that she tells herself, "You do have the strength, you've travelled some hard yards already. You can do this — you've made it through tough stuff before."

Recently, Kate's ex-husband Jon Gosselin told his lawyer to release a statement to Us Weekly. The lawyer explained that the former reality star isn't pleased with how his ex-wife dealt with their son Collin. For the uninitiated, the reaction was based on the interview Kate had with "Good Morning America," in which she admitted that she sent her son to live in a learning facility. Collin was sent to the facility for behavioral issues.

In a statement released to Us Weekly, Jon's lawyer said the former reality star is "very upset" over the comments his ex-wife has been making about their son Collin. This was in reaction to Kate's interview on Monday's episode of "Good Morning America." Since Kate's ex-husband is bound by law to refrain from speaking about his children publicly, his lawyer explained in his client's place that Jon is upset with how the statements are being released. He claims that part of the story isn't being told.
