Keeping Up With the Kardashians News: Family Signs $100-Million Deal for 4 More Seasons
American viewers will get to see the Kardashian family for at least four more years after Kris Jenner announced a new mega contract with E!
Kris, Kendall, and Kylie Jenner as well as Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe Kardashian signed a staggering $100-million deal to continue shooting their reality show "Keeping Up With the Kardashians."
The record-breaking deal, The Hollywood Reporter said, came after the Kardashian matriarch played a "major hardball," threatening to take her family away from the network, which led to the offer.
"This has been in the works for almost a year. Kris is a fierce negotiator. She was playing major hardball and threatening to leave," an insider told Page Six.
This marked the most expensive deal made in TV history for a reality program. Details of the agreement are still kept secret, but the Kardashian family is expected to stay in the hit show for at least four more seasons along with spinoffs such as "Kourtney" and "Khloé Take the Hamptons."
Thanks to the family's large following on social media such as YouTube, the executives of the company are said to have some digital projects in the pipeline, Cover Media said.
The Kardashian sisters expressed hope that the new season could give them a chance to move into different areas. Khloé already covered red carpets during this year's award ceremonies for E! Kim is apparently keen to create her own shows, on which she'll act as producer.
"While her husband Kanye West hasn't signed the deal, he and their daughter North West will still make appearances on Keeping Up with the Kardashians," the Independent reported.
"It isn't just the stars of the show whose careers will be boosted though as creator Ryan Seacrest is also reportedly set to see his fee increase by a large amount," it added.
Kim, RadarOnline.com reported, has been considering not going back to the program because she wants to focus on more than just the show.
