KickassTorrents shutdown update 2016: List of working KAT proxy and mirror sites

After several years of attempting to seize this year's top torrent resource site, KickassTorrents (KAT), the United States Homeland Security has finally managed to shut it down last month. This left several people looking for the second best torrent website to continue their file sharing activities. But as the main KAT domain was shut down, these Kickass-related websites were able to survive.

The alternative torrent sources have seen an increased traffic on their websites after the KAT shutdown. The Pirates Bay (TBP), Extra Torrents, Isohunnt.to and YTS.ag are some of the people's next best alternatives, The Bit Bag reported.

However, other people may have already been fond of KAT's friendly user interface and easy procedure in downloading digital media. The good news for now, especially for those still looking forward to Kickass Torrents' return, is that there are several Kickass proxy and mirror sites that still exist today.

As reported by Yibada, the primary domains of KickassTorrents such as kickasstorrents.com, kat.cr, thekat.tv, kastatic.com, kickass.to, kickass.cr and kat.ph are all down as of the moment. Although people can still check out the Kickass proxy and mirror sites that are confirmed to be working. These sites are kat.al, katproxy.al, katproxy.site, katproxy.tech, katproxy.top, katproxy.online, and kattor.xyz.

It should be noted, however, that these KAT proxy and mirror servers may not have updated contents. The online publication mentioned that these websites only mirror contents that are present in the main Kickass Torrents server, which is no longer accessible. These mirror sites are still able to operate, thanks to the clone sites of Kickass Torrents that have begun to surface online. These KAT clones are the ones providing the contents which the confirmed KAT mirror sites are now using as source.

As of today, the known KAT clone websites that are working are kat.am, kickasstop.com, torrent-dx.com, kickass.la, katstorrents.co, and kickass.unblocked.live.

The mentioned clone websites are actually not associated with KickassTorrents. Therefore, PC users should take extra precaution in accessing these websites. There is a danger in downloading fake contents with malicious software that will ultimately ruin the computer's system, so people are advised to double check everything they are trying to access.
