"Killer Instinct" has just rolled out its new downloadable content (DLC) character named Kilgore. Kilgore joins the roster of other characters in the free-to-play game. Here is everything that should be known in the new "Killer Instinct" DLC character.

Iron Galaxy announced that Kilgore will appear in "Killer Instinct" in January. The game developer added that they will announce more details of the upcoming fighter in the next several weeks. In the meantime, players can check out the latest video to learn more of Kilgore.

In the video, Kilgore demonstrates himself as a fierce fighter with seemingly robotic qualities and with machine guns ready to kill his opponent. A fight scene is also featured to show how the fighter uses his capabilities, particularly his jumping at his opponent to launch a rocket booster located at his feet. Then, he throws punches with his arms filled with guns.

According to "Killer Instinct" community manager Rukari Austin, players can encounter Kilgore before his actual debut, though he did not disclose how and when that would happen.

Aside from Kilgore, the video also provides information of the changes applied to other characters in "Killer Instinct," including a new skin for Thunder. A new reward system has also been shown and one of the most noticeable is a retro outfit for Orchid.

Meanwhile, "Killer Instinct" senior manager Nicole Fawcette revealed substantial information about the character. She wrote on Xbox Wire, "The Legend of Thunder costume is 100% authentic to the Nez Percé warrior tradition — from the new metal axes to the buckskin & beaded pants."

Fawcette detailed the changes applied to Thunder, particularly:

  • Headdress has been removed: We learned that headdresses are mostly worn for ceremonial events vs battles or combat
  • Hair: Thunder now has a traditional warrior style pompadour hairstyle, based on historical photos
  • Added arm braces and a belt with traditional Nez Perce beadwork in the common color palette of pink and green with geometric pattern
  • Buckskin pants with the same traditional Nez Perce beadwork in pink and green with geometric pattern
  • Traditional moccasins: Worn for more agile combat and handcrafted from raw materials
  • Traditional metal-work axes

The update for "Killer Instinct" can now be experienced by PC and Xbox One players.
