'Kingdom Hearts 3' release date and news: Plot for game supposedly leaked
A lot of fans are eager to see the release of "Kingdom Hearts III" ("KH III") from Square Enix, but so far all they have are bits and pieces of reports on what to expect from the highly anticipated game. The plot for "KH III" is said to have been leaked, and it pits Sora and friends against Master Xenohart one more time.
According to reports, the game will have Sora looking for the seven guardians of light. Along for the ride are Sora's longtime companions, Donald and Goofy, as well as friend-turned-enemy-turned-friend Rikku. Sora will also be joined by King Mickey, who is considered to be one of the most powerful characters in the game.
The series trademark for "Kingdom Hearts" is its ability to mesh elements of "Final Fantasy" with classic Disney movies. The first games had Sora going to places from movies like "Aladdin," "Alice in Wonderland," "Tron" and "Pirates of the Caribbean." Players should expect "KH III" to bring them to more modern Disney locations like the worlds of "Tangled," "Frozen" and "Big Hero 6."
Speaking of "Big Hero 6," there are rumors that the game will feature a "Heartless" version of Baymax. In the game, Sora's main enemies are the Heartless, dark beings who seek to conquer different worlds. They also have the ability to corrupt other beings. In some supposedly leaked concept art for "KH III," players can see Sora riding atop the regular Baymax as he goes against the Heartless version of the character.
Though the picture looks legit, it's best that gamers take this with a grain of salt as all concept art is not directly approved for the final game.
No official release date has been announced for "Kingdom Hearts III," but fans can expect it to arrive sometime next year.
