'Kingdom Hearts 3' release date news 2016: No final words yet from Square Enix about release date; 2017 release possible?
As of the moment, Square Enix has not yet released any confirmation regarding the final release date of "Kingdom Hearts 3." While it is confirmed that the game developer company is now working on the upcoming "Kingdom Hearts" game sequel, there is still no official word regarding its expected release. However, the rumors are rife that the latest game title in the "Kingdom Hearts" franchise will arrive sometime next year.
Many game enthusiasts tuned in to last June's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 in hopes that Square Enix would also present the much-awaited details regarding "Kingdom Hearts 3" during the event. Unfortunately for the fans that patiently waited for an update, the company made no mention of the game. However, Square Enix quickly responded to the fans' disappointment, saying that they really intended not to show anything about "Kingdom Hearts 3" during the event. Moreover, they would want the public to be focused on the recently released game prologue chapter for "Kingdom Hearts 3," titled "Kingdom Hearts 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue."
"We're excited about Kingdom Hearts 3. But 2.8 we're releasing globally at the beginning of December. We wanted to concentrate on that first. We want what's best for the moment. We're currently making 3 and 2.8 at the same time, but we wanted to concentrate on 2.8 right now," said "Kingdom Hearts" game director Tai Yasue via Game N Guide. Players should check out the prologue game first to get the first glimpse of the soon-to-be-released "Kingdom Hearts" title.
Nevertheless, it is highly speculated that the game sequel is still a go and it will be released in the coming months, possibly by 2017. Meanwhile, there are rumors that "Kingdom Hearts 3" is already in the listing for Nintendo NX game titles. As of the meantime, there is still no confirmation from Square Enix whether "Kingdom Hearts 3" will be an NX-exclusive game, so it is better to take this rumor with a grain of salt.
