'Kingdom Hearts 3' release date news: Details to be revealed after 'Kingdom Hearts 2.8' arrival?
Details about "Kingdom Hearts III" remain elusive since it was officially unveiled at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2013, but game director Tetsuya Nomura revealed that he will do something about the situation soon.
In an interview with Japanese website Dengeki PlayStation, which was spotted by iDigitalTimes, Nomura promised that more information about the 11th installment of the "Kingdom Hearts" series will be released after the "Kingdom Hearts 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue" comes out in the market.
"After I've gotten it across that the position of the content in KH2.8 is important, I think I will report new information on KH3 along with the release of KH2.8," the game director reportedly said in the interview.
"Kingdom Hearts 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue" is a high-definition (HD) remastered collection that is composed of several games under the "Kingdom Hearts" series. It is expected to be released in Jan. 12, 2017. If Nomura will stay true to his promise, fans can expect to hear the highly anticipated details about "Kingdom Hearts III" next month.
At the moment, fans of the video game series already knew that Sora will return to become the protagonist of the upcoming action-adventure role playing game. He reportedly must gather the seven Guardians of Light in order to succeed in his quest.
Sora will need the help of Goofy and Donald to look for the Guardians of Light and the Key to Return Hearts. On the other hand, Riku and King Mickey will have to look for the past Keyblade wielders to prevent Master Xehanort's plans to stabilize the balance between the light and darkness.
Previous reports also claimed that the upcoming "Kingdom Hearts III" will be the final chapter in the "Dark Seeker" saga.
There are no details yet regarding the release date of "Kingdom Hearts III," but it is expected to be announced by Square Enix in the coming days.
