Nonetheless, fans are not at all disappointed because "Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD Final Chapter Prologue" will be released before the year ends.
The "Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD Final Chapter Prologue" is an HD remastered collection of "Kingdom Hearts" games. Although it is not the third installment people were hoping for, fans are quite happy that another title from the franchise is set to come out. According to reports, the upcoming remastered version of the video game is said to be the reason why the development and release of "Kingdom Hearts 3" are being delayed.

There are reports suggesting that Square Enix's main focus as of the moment is the release of "Final Fantasy 15." Apparently, fans will have to wait a few more years before the third title of "Kingdom Hearts" franchise hits the market, Gaming Bolt reported.
Meanwhile, there is speculation circulating suggesting that Square Enix will likely add characters from Marvel and Star Wars in "Kingdom Hearts 3." However, the company has yet to provide an official statement with regard to these reports.
