'Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue' release date news 2016: Game is delayed once more
Square Enix announced that "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue" will be available this coming December, but the release of the game has been delayed yet again. Fans don't have to worry though as the delay seems to be only for a month. "Kingdom Hearts" may find its way to players come Jan. 24, 2017.
Though fans in North America and Europe will get the game next year, Japanese gamers will be getting their hands on it earlier. The release for the game in Japan is on Jan. 12.
According to Mobipicker, the game has been pushed back because of the studio's work on "Final Fantasy XV." The announcement was made via a Twitter post by Tesuya Nomura, and he said that even "FF XV" is also late. As of now, "FF XV" is set for release this coming Nov 29. With the releases so close together, it only makes sense for the developers to have the delay.
A trailer for the game was released during the Sony Tokyo Game Show 2016 press conference held from Sept. 15 to 18. The clip is said to have materials from the previous games that have never been seen before.
Fans of the "Kingdom Hearts" franchise will remember the song "Simple and Clean" by Utada Hikaru. Though the song is remixed, fans will remember it from the first game that came out way back in 2002.
The trailer also shows various scenes from previous "Kingdom Hearts" games like "Kingdom Hearts 2.0 Birth by Sleep" and "Kingdom Hearts Chi: Back Cover." It also includes clip from the HD remaster of "Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance" and also the "Kingdom Hearts" origin movie.
Though the delay may have pushed the release of the game to 2017, at least fans can look forward to something early in the year.
