Legendary Pictures recently released an international trailer for the upcoming movie "Kong: Skull Island."

Based on the latest Japanese trailer, it looks like "Kong: Skull Island" will be featuring not only King Kong but also a whole island of terrifying and lethal beasts.

The movie's ensemble cast includes Tom Hiddleston, Oscar winner Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman, and John C. Reilly. Actors Tian Jing, Jason Mitchell, Corey Hawkins, Thomas Mann, John Ortiz, Toby Kebbell, Shea Wigham, and Eugene Cordero also appear in the upcoming movie.

"Kong: Skull Island" is directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts and is based on a screenplay written by Max Borenstein, John Gatins, Dan Gilroy, and Derek Connolly. The film is produced by Legandary's Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni, along with Mary Parent. Eric McLeod and Alex Garcia also serve as the movie's executive producers.

Regarding the plot of "Kong: Skull Island," cast member Hawkins recently revealed, after a panel interview at a recent TCA Fox network session, that the much-awaited "King Kong" movie would not be entirely dark.

"The tone of the movie is the tone of the set," Hawkins said during the panel, as reported by Collider, adding, "There were serious undercurrents of shooting this film, and then there was shooting with these guys – you've seen the cast – it was one of those journey."

"We got the opportunity to find the light moments. It can't be all serious at all times, and I think in our darkest moments you have to find the humor and the lightness. Sometimes humor is necessary to get you through it's honest," the actor went on to say.

According to Gamespot, the upcoming "King Kong" film, as announced back in 2015, would form part of an ongoing monster movie series. After the success of "Godzilla" in 2014, Legendary has forged a partnership with Warner Bros. to create a hybrid monster movie franchise featuring the two iconic beasts in modern cinema. This team-up will also include "Godzilla: King of Monsters" in 2018 and "Godzilla Vs. Kong" in 2020.

"Kong: Skull Island" is scheduled to hit theaters on March 10, 2017
