'Left 4 Dead 3' release date, news, rumors: Valve secretly developing 'L4D3,' to be released sooner than expected?
For the past several months, the fans of the highly successful "Left 4 Dead" series have been speculating that Valve is on its way to release the third installment. It has been quite a while since the last installment of the series, "Left 4 Dead 2," was released, and some fans believe that the much-awaited "Left 4 Dead 3" title is overdue.
In spite of all the rumors surrounding the internet about "Left 4 Dead 3," Valve has kept a tighly zipped mouth, avoiding to talk about any possible plans for "Left 4 Dead" as much as possible. With the lack of updates from the game studio itself, some fans have started to lose hope that "Left 4 Dead 3" will ever happen. However, the latest reports remain positive that the game project is still happening. In fact, the rumors are rife that Valve is already working on "Left 4 Dead 3" secretly, and the fans might just be surprised one day with the game's release.
One of the hints pointing to the current development of "Left 4 Dead 3" is the leak from a Valve employee named Tristan Reidford. He once posted a screenshot for his online Destinations Workshop tool tutorial, capturing all the contents of his desktop. Some fans were quick enough to notice a mysterious folder named "left4dead3," and now they believe that Valve has indeed started on the development of the next "Left 4 Dead" sequel. Reidford already took down the said image shortly after the image went viral among the "L4D" fans.
According to Master Herald, "Left 4 Dead 3" might be Valve's most prioritized game title in the coming years as it would be under development of the company's latest Source Engine version. They once showed a level on the original "Left 4 Dead" game being played on the Source Engine 2, leading the fans to think that Valve is getting ready to apply the latest game engine to "Left 4 Dead 3." Unfortunately, no information was given by the game studio regarding that matter.
