Over the past months, it has been rumored that Valve would release a follow-up game for the highly popular "Left 4 Dead" series. However, amidst all the reports surrounding the much hyped "Left 4 Dead 3," Valve has refused to confirm the rumors that they are indeed creating a new installment for the franchise. They have also avoided talking about the future of the "L4D" series, as they focus on their other game projects.
Still, the latest reports about "Left 4 Dead 3" are positive that Valve will be releasing the follow-up title soon. In fact, the rumors are rife that Valve is already working on "Left 4 Dead 3" secretly, and will leave the fans surprised when the game is already released one day.
Further strengthening the speculations that Valve is already starting to create "Left 4 Dead 3" is a set of leaked images from a Valve employee named Tristan Reidford. The said employee once held an online Destinations Workshop tool tutorial, and at one point, he once posted a screenshot that captures all the contents of his desktop. Some fans were quick enough to notice that there is a mysterious folder named "left4dead3." This would only suggest that the company was at least brainstorming for the next "Left 4 Dead" installment. Reidford already took down the said image shortly after the image went viral in every "Left 4 Dead" online forums.
As reported by Game N Guide, "Left 4 Dead 3" will serve as a prequel to "Left 4 Dead 2," in spite of the earlier rumors that the next installment will pick up right where the last game title left off. Moreover, there are rumors that the game will feature new characters such as a Caucasian woman named Katherine, a Kenpo fighter named Garrett, comic book fan named Keenan and a gangster known as Irvin. To note, Valve has never confirmed the development of "Left 4 Dead 3," let alone confirming the new characters in the supposed next installment.
