Legend of Zelda Wii U Release Date Rumors: Aunoma Prefers Mario Kart 8 Content to Appear in Games
Even though the release date for The Legend of Zelda is set for next year, the fans are already creating a buzz on the new game.
First off, there could be a possible partnership between the Legend of Zelda franchise and Mario Kart 8 after Legend of Zelda Director Aunoma stated that they would like to integrate Mario Kart in the game.
The Mario Kart 8 motorcycle, named the Master Cycle, was launched by Nintendo as an upgraded ride for the new Mario Kart 8 downloadable content pack.
The DLC will feature Peach, Link and Mario with their new suits and new rides as they journey on the upgraded tracks. The DLC will be available next month, but the updates on the pack are set to arrive in May 2015.
In his blog, Aunoma wrote that the Master Cycle is "literally a horse of steel. The development team showed me how the Master Cycle races on the track, and I was overwhelmed by how great it looked."
"It looked so cool that I also want it to appear in games I work on," he added.
He also assured gamers that in the new Legend of Zelday, the Wii U GamePad will be utilized.
He said they are aiming for changes in the game. They do not want it to be "traditional," he said.
"The more we change it, the more I get fired up. Having someone think 'Huh? Is this Zelda?!' at first, then 'Oh, it is Zelda,' is what we're going for. Something that wouldn't make it matter whether Link or Princess Zelda appear in it or not. Something where it wouldn't even matter if Zelda is actually a princess, or not."
