'Legends of Tomorrow' season 2 premiere spoilers, news: Rip loses his memory; series moves to new timeslot
Memories will be lost on the upcoming episode of The CW's hit superhero drama "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2.
Titled "Raiders of the Lost Art," the show's midseason premiere will see the Legends up against the Legion of Doom. According to the official synopsis, Damien Darhk (guest star Neal McDonough) and Malcolm Merlyn (guest star John Barrowman) attempt to capture Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) in 1967. In an effort to track Rip, they create an Aberration large enough to draw the attention of the heroes.
Things take a different turn when the team arrives and realizes that Rip has no memories of his past because of the "time drift." After trying to explain everything to Rip, they learn that he possesses a powerful artifact called the Spear of Destiny, which the Legion of Doom is after. Nate (Nick Zano) and Ray (Bradon Routh) realize that the Aberration also affected them, making it more difficult for the duo to help the Legends. Elsewhere, Rory (Dominic Purcell) seeks help from Stein (Victor Garber) and tells him to keep it a secret from the entire team. In addition, the episode will also see a young George Lucas, played by "Grimm" actor Matt Angel.
On another note, "Legends of Tomorrow" is taking a different timeslot this season. When the top-rating drama returns later this month, it will be airing with a new schedule. The ensemble superhero series will now be aired every Tuesday night at 9 p.m. ET — two days earlier than its former schedule.
The recent change-up was announced by the network through a new trailer, saying "The legends are traveling to a new night and a new time." The promo clip confirms the time and date, so fans can now start marking their calendars.
The second season of "Legends of Tomorrow" returns on Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
