'Lethal Weapon' season 1 episode 10 spoilers: Back-half season features more cartel, conflict with Trish, and Leo Getz

The midseason finale went out with a bang and a power shortage, but it did nothing at all to dim the deep friendship that unlikely allies Roger Murtaugh (Damon Wayans) and Martin Riggs (Clayne Crawford) have forged throughout the show's first nine episodes. What other mischief will they get caught in when the second half of "Lethal Weapon" season 1 rolls around?

In an interview with Screener TV, series creator Matthew Miller said that viewers of the show have not yet seen the last of the cartel storyline and how it may or may not relate at all to the death of Riggs' wife, Miranda Riggs (Floriana Lima). This will continue to be a connecting theme throughout the show's first season, and Riggs will gather more information, as well as get some of the answers he's been looking for regarding Miranda's accident.

Miller also teased an upcoming episode wherein Murtaugh and Riggs will find themselves in direct conflict with the professional side of the former's wife, Trish Murtaugh (Keesha Sharp), a well-known district attorney who may well be the polar opposite of her caring and more accommodating domestic side. The conflict happens when the homicide detectives arrest Trish's former client.

"It's a really fun episode that puts the dynamic together of Trish vs. the guys," Miller said.

The series creator also shared that a key character from the "Lethal Weapon" movies will soon be adapted into the small screen. Leo Getz, the character that actor Joe Pesci played in the movies, will be joining the cast before season 1 wraps up.

Leo first appeared in "Lethal Weapon 2" as a former federal witness that Murtaugh and Riggs had to protect. He would later on become their close friend and an eventual member of their team. Casting news about his TV adaptation will be released soon.

The 10th episode of "Lethal Weapon" titled "Homebodies" kicks off the second half of the show's freshman season on Wednesday, Jan. 4, at 8 p.m. EST on FOX.
