'Lethal Weapon' season 1 episode 8 spoilers: Riggs left with an eight-year-old boy as Murtaugh rides in style
For a guy who lives in a trailer with a stray dog that doesn't listen to him, caring for an 8-year-old boy may be way beyond his skill set. But when the said boy is the only witness to a deadly casino heist, brash and reckless Martin Riggs (Clayne Crawford) may just prove to be the best and worst man for the job.
In the episode titled "Can I Get a Witness?," Riggs is given another chance to show the occasional tender side to him when a key witness to a heist is entrusted to his care. The episode preview shows Riggs and his partner Roger Murtaugh (Damon Wayans) enlisting the help of police psychologist Maureen Cahill (Jordana Brewster) to get the boy to open up and talk about the case.
But the case soon proves to be more than just a casino heist gone wrong as gunmen on motorbikes begin hunting the boy down, forcing Martin and Riggs to do all they can to protect the boy at all cost. The boy himself seems to eventually warm up to Riggs, who even coolly claims to be "the most difficult person to kill in general" before facing the pack of armed bikers shooting at his trailer.
The official press release for the episode also mentions how Murtaugh will be engaging in some dangerous stunts to prove that he too can ride a motorcycle in style. It will be interesting to see how Riggs and Murtaugh's wife Trish (Keesha Sharp) will react to the usually cautious detective's reckless phase.
Riggs will also have to deal with his own personal issues when he receives the money he earned for selling his house in Texas. Will he finally decide to buy himself a proper home in Los Angeles, or will he end up doing something unexpected with the money? Will the 8-year-old boy ultimately play a part in his decision? And will Murtaugh convince anyone of his motorcycle-riding prowess without injuring himself?
Find out when "Lethal Weapon" season 1 episode 8 airs in two weeks on Wednesday, Nov. 30, at 8 p.m. EST on FOX.
