LG G4 vs Sony Xperia Z4 Specs, Features and Price Comparison: Plastic Phone Takes On Glass-and-Metal Device
Two of today's latest smartphones – the LG G4 and the Sony Xperia Z4 – have distinctive looks carefully crafted by their respective makers. LG decided that it is happy using plastic and leather on its newest smartphone while Sony decided to stick with its tried and tested metal and glass combination.
Design
Sony decided that the Xperia Z4 did not need to look different from its predecessor in terms of design. As such, it has a similar metal frame and glass back panel along with nylon protection on its corners. As for the LG G4, it has a "SlimArc" running from top to bottom and is made from plastic. Hence, it does not have a premium look and feel. As for its back, it has three default panels in patterned plastic. User may also opt for a leather back panel dyed with natural colors and with a double stitch.
Display
The LG G4 has an IPS LCD screen measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 538 pixels per inch. As for the Xperia Z4, it has a smaller IPS LCD screen measuring 5.2 inches with a resolution of1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 424 pixels per inch.
Specs
LG decided not to use the latest Snapdragon processor on the G4 and instead used the less powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset, together with a CPU with two Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.44 GHz and an Adreno 418 GPU. Compared to this, the Xperia Z4 has the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, an octa-core CPU with four Cortex-A53 cores and four Cortex-A57 cores and an Adreno 430 GPU.
Memory
In terms of memory slots, both devices have one each which can be used to add up to 128 GB of external storage. Both devices also have 3 GB RAM onboard.
Price
The LG G4 costs $768 in its unlocked form but could cost $199 with a two-year contract. As for the Sony Xperia Z4, it could be launched in the United States as the Xperia Z3+ and priced at $199 with a two-year contract.
