LG G4 vs Xiaomi Mi Note Comparison: LG Phablet Offers Better Design, Display and Specs
With the release of its G4 last month, LG hopes to grab a substantial share of the phablet market. However, in China and other Asian countries phablets from Xiaomi are the ones getting a lot of attention, in particular Xiaomi's latest phablet model, the Mi Note. Here is a comparison between the LG G4 and the Xiaomi Mi Note.
Design
The LG G4 is made mainly from plastic. It has a SlimArc curve that extends from top to bottom. Along with this is a default polycarbonate back panel with patterns. It is available in three colors. There is also a choice of optional leather back panels which users can buy and install themselves. These back panels are dyed in a number of natural colors and feature decorative stitches. As for the Mi Note, it has a metal frame and curved Gorilla Glass 3. The glass has a 2.5 D curve on its front while its back panel has a 3D curve.
Display
The LG G4 display is one of the phablet's best features. It has an IPS LCD screen measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 538 pixels per inch. As for the Mi Note, it has a slightly bigger IPS LCD screen measuring 5.7 inches. However, its resolution is lower at 1080 x 1920 pixels with a density of 386 pixels per inch.
Specs
As for specs, the Mi Note lags behind its competitor. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801chipset, a Krait 400 CPU with four cores clocked at 2.5 GHz and an Adreno 330 GPU. As for the LG G4, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset, a hexa-core CPU with two Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.44 GHz along with an Adreno 418 GPU.
Memory
The LG G4 has a memory slot which allow for the addition of up to 128 GB of external storage. The Mi Note does not have one. As for RAM, both devices have 3 GB each.
Price
The LG G4 costs around $770 at full retail while the 16 GB Mi Note costs around $370.
