LG Chief Technology Officer Skott Ahn just confirmed that the LG G6 will be launched prior to this year's Mobile World Congress (MWC). The handset is being crazed about for its design as it is slated to be different from the usual smartphone shell.

The LG G6's rumored selling point is its design and function. The imminent handset sports an all-glass design, which has not been achieved by any phone manufacturer before. As per Phone Arena, it is rumored that the handset will boast an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display screen, improved camera and front-facing stereo speakers.

Other talked-about specs are the handset's fingerprint and iris scanner, alongside a longer battery life. It is said that LG has to make a good impression following the current model's not-so-popular mark in the market. Several tech websites reported that the LG G5 and LG V20 did not perform well in the market, opting the company to come out with a gadget that would ensure a place at the top spot.

Aside from the design, scanners and battery features, the company is reportedly planning to make the LG G6 more affordable than other premium brands. It is speculated that the device will only have a price tag of between $500 and $600, which is far more reasonable than what other flagship brands have to offer.

LG is also rumored to have the device installed with water-resistant features, similar to what Apple has done with the iPhone 7. The phone's internal specs may include Qualcomm's Snapdragon 830 processor coupled with a 4 GB of random-access memory (RAM).

As for the release date, it is possible that LG will hold a separate event for the LG G6 launch, which may be similar to Samsung's "Unpacked" event. Once announced, LG G6 is planned to hit the shelves of Europe, North America and South Korea.

The specs and the release date, however, have yet to be confirmed by LG.
