LG Watch Urbane LTE vs Samsung Gear S Specs, Price Review: Features Comparison - Both Can Make Calls
The LG Watch Urbane LTE is the latest smartwatch with the capability to make and receive calls completely independent of a smartphone. The Samsung Gear S already has this feature and could provide stiff competition.
Design
When comparing the design between these smartwatches, it is clear that they are completely different as the LG Watch Urbane LTE has a round body made of steel with a silver polish. However, unlike its cousin the LG Watch Urbane, the LTE version does not have a leather strap. There is also no information on whether its strap can be replaced with any standard 22mm strap. Coming to the Gear S, it has a slightly curved plastic body with a rectangular watch face in white or black. It is paired with semi-flexible rubber strap which cannot be replaced with a standard 22mm version. Comparing their water and dust resistance, both devices come with an IP67 rating and can be immersed in up to one meter of water for up to 30 minutes without any problem.
Display
The display on the Gear S is a curved super AMOLED screen measuring 2 inches with a resolution of 360 x 480 and density of 300 pixels per inch. As for the LG Watch Urbane LTE, it has a 1.3-inch P-OLED screen with a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels and density of 245 pixels per inch.
Features
Both smartwatches have the capability to make and receive calls. The Gear S has a SIM slot that can accommodate a nano-SIM card with its own phone number. The LG Watch Urbane LTE also has the same capability. It is also NFC-enabled and can be used to make payments.
Specs
The processor on the Gear S is a dual-core version clocked at 1 GHz and it has 4 GB of internal storage and 512 MB RAM. As for the LG Watch Urbane LTE, it has 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 4GB internal storage and 1GB RAM.
Price
The Gear S is priced at $299 without a two-year contract and $199 with one. As for the LG Watch Urbane LTE, its price has not been announced but it will definitely be costlier than the LG G Watch R which currently retails at $300.
