LG Watch Urbane Release Date, Review: Described As 'The Most Beautiful Android Wear Smartwatch'
LG recently announced that it will be launching a new smartwatch to the Mobile World Congress 2015 which kicks off on March 2 in Barcelona, Spain.
The name of the smartwatch – LG Watch Urbane – at first drew criticism from some industry sources. But this was soon forgotten as its design drew praise from other sources who described it as "the most beautiful Android Wear smartwatch."
The striking feature of the LG Watch Urbane is by and large its metal watch face with great design. The watch face comes in two colors. The LG press release said the watch will have two versions – polished gold and silver finish. It will be sold with a natural leather strap designed to match with the body. But users can replace the strap with any suitable 22mm strap of their own choice. Another factor that was highlighted in the press release was the sleekness of the smartwatch, especially when compared to the LG G Watch R which is thicker.
This slim design of the LG Watch Urbane will specifically appeal to women and those who want a more formal device that can worn every day.
Compared to the LG G Watch R, which was designed primarily for those with an active lifestyle, the LG Watch Urbane has been described by news sources as a smartwatch that can easily double as a luxury timepiece both for men and women.
As for the specs in the LG Watch Urbane, it comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset clocked at 1.2GHz. It P-OLED display is similar in size to the LG G Watch R and measures 1.3-inches with a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels and a density of 245 pixels per inch. Coming to its memory, it has 4GB of internal storage and 512MB of RAM. Its battery is a 410mAh version. The device has an IP67 dust and water resistant rating.
The smartwatch comes with an accelerometer, barometer, gyro, compass and a pulse and heart rate sensor.
