LG Watch Urbane vs Samsung Gear S Specs Comparison: Price, Features Review - Great Functionality Takes On Great Style
The Samsung Gear S is a big and great-looking device which is basically a phone trapped in a watch's body. However, when compared to the super stylish LG Watch Urbane, it is clear that the device from Samsung has a big gap to cover to catch up with its rival.
Design
If there is one smartwatch that could provide a huge amount of competition to the Apple Watch it is the LG Watch Urbane, which is slimmer and smaller than its predecessor, the LG G Watch R. The LG Watch Urbane has a steel body with an elegant gold or silver polish and a round watch face, which makes it look like a regular wristwatch. It comes with a strap made from natural leather which can be replaced with any standard 22mm strap. As for the Samsung Gear S, it has a plastic body with a strap that can only be replaced with any of several plastic straps in a variety of colors created specifically for the device. As for dust and water resistance rating, both devices come with a similar IP67 rating.
Display
The display on the Gear S is a 2.0-inch curved super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 360 x 480 pixels and a density of 300 pixels per inch. As for the LG Watch Urbane, it has a 1.3-inch P-OLED display with a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels and a density of 245 pixels per inch.
Specs
The Gear S has a dual core 1.0 GHz chipset, along with 512MB RAM and 4GB internal storage. As for the LG Watch Urbane it has a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset, 4GB of internal storage and 512MB RAM.
Features and Sensors
The Gear S has a micro SIM slot and can be used to make and receive calls even when not paired with a phone. The LG Watch Urbane does not have any such feature. As for sensors, the LG Watch Urbane and the Gear S both have a gyroscope, accelerometer, compass, barometer and heart rate sensor. In addition, the Gear S has a UV light and ambient light sensor.

The LG Watch Urbane could be priced anywhere above $300 while the Gear S is priced at $3
