The LG Watch Urbane is being hailed as a beautiful device, but it still has to beat other sporty devices like the Sony Smartwatch 3 if it wants to gain a foothold in the market before the Apple Watch arrives.
Design
Design is where the LG Watch Urbane has a trump card as it has a stunning round watch face made of steel which is covered with either gold or silver polish. The watch face is attached to a default natural leather strap which can be replaced with any 22mm wide strap if the user wants to do so. As for the Sony Smartwatch 3, it has a rectangular watch face made of plastic. Its rubber strap can be replaced with other similar rubber straps in various colors that a user may purchase separately. However, the watch cannot be used with standard 22mm straps like its competitor can. As for dust and water resistance, the Sony Smartwatch 3 has a IP68 rating while the LG Watch Urbane has a IP67 rating.
Display
The display on the LG Watch Urbane is a 1.3-inch P-OLED screen with a resolution of 320 x 320 and a density of 245 pixels per inch. As for the Sony Smartwatch 3, it has a 1.6-inch transflective display with a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels and a density of 283 pixels per inch.
Specs
The chipset on the Watch Urbane is a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 while the Sony Smartwatch 3 has a Quad ARM A7 chipset clocked at 1.2 Ghz. The Sony Smartwatch also has 512 MB RAM and 4 GB internal storage much like the LG Watch Urbane.
Sensors
The Sony Smartwatch 3 has an accelerometer, compass, gyro, GPS and ambient light sensor. As for the LG Watch Urbane, it comes with a gyro, compass, accelerometer, barometer and heart rate sensor.
Price
The LG Watch Urbane could cost anywhere above the $300 price tag of the LG G Watch R while the Sony Smartwatch 3 costs $250.
