'Longmire' season 5 spoilers, updates: Major characters to die when 5th installment returns?

The airdate for "Longmire" season 5 has been set, and now, countless speculations abound concerning the upcoming installment.

There are reports that Sheriff Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) and his deputy, Vic Moretti (Katee Sackhoff), would finally go to the next level of their relationship. Fans know that the series has played around the love angle between Walt and Dr. Donna Monaghan (Ally Walker), but there has always been clamor for a Walt-Vic union.

Now, it looks like aside from getting together as a couple, a wedding is also in the offing for the two, as teased by director T.J. Scott in the early goings of season 5's production. However, there are talks that the rumored wedding would have a bloody ending.

According to speculations, Walt and Vic would get married, but the two would meet a tragic car accident that would result in Walt's death. Moreover, according to Game n Guide, Vic would end up with Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips) upon Walt's death.

These are all speculations at this point, and the producers of the show are neither confirming nor denying these plot rumors. There are insinuations that the impending wedding of Walt and Vic would signal the end of the series, but it appears that it could also pave the way for possible storylines to fuel a sixth season for "Longmire."

With Walt's purported death and a possible sixth season for the series, Phillips' character, Henry, would have to take lead star reins. Henry and Walt are good friends, but Carter Matt suggested that the former only thinks of himself and doesn't want to be shadowed by Walt.

In fact, there are fan theories suggesting that their friendship would be tested in "Longmire" season 5 and that Henry could be the mastermind behind Walt and Vic's supposed accident. Again, these suppositions should be taken with a grain of salt until such time that Phillips, Taylor, or the showrunner confirms the reports.
