'Lost Soul Aside' release date, news: Sony to release game as PS4 time exclusive
"Lost Soul Aside" used to be just an independent video game project inspired by "Final Fantasy XV." Now it looks like the much anticipated title is about to carve its own successful path in the gaming world.
Sony, one of the leading names in video game publication, has reportedly picked up the project and is now backing all efforts towards its eventual completion. What began as a one-man project that inspired positive feedback from the online community is now about to become its own game.
Yang Bing, the Korean game developer responsible for the game, first introduced "Lost Soul Aside" on the Unreal Engine forums with a trailer and a set of gameplay images that instantly awed its audience.
Bing described the on-going project as a fantasy-action game that aimed to combine elements from popular titles "Final Fantasy" and "Ninja Gaiden." But what really caught the online community's attention is the fact that Bing has been working on the project all on his own for two years after seeing the trailer for "Final Fantasy XV."
Within only a week of the trailer's release, various companies have already reached out to Bing to express their interest in funding the game. On Oct. 22, Bing announced on his official Twitter account that he will be receiving support from Sony, and that he will be working with other game developers in creating a more original game out of the initial prototype for "Lost Soul Aside."
In a more recent Tweet, Bing informed his followers that the upcoming game will be released as a time exclusive title for PlayStation 4, which means that it will only be available for the said platform for a limited amount of time.
The game will also be featuring multi-weapons and more significant changes in both the settings and the characters to give the game its own unique look separate from the work that inspired it. Bing also promised that he will try to finish the game by 2018.
No official announcement has been made regarding the plot of the final product, but the trailer and the gameplay video should give gaming enthusiasts a peek into the fantastical adventures of Kazer, the main character, as he gets caught in a war between "humans and unknown monsters."
Updates on the game's progress will be posted on the official "Lost Soul Aside" Facebook page as well as on Bing's official Twitter account.
