Macbook Air 2014 Release Date Latest, Specs: Apple to Release Just in Time for the Holidays?
Apple fans have been looking forward to the latest Macbook Air release now that the new iOS 8 and iPhone 6 are already out in the market. While no announcement has been made, fans are anticipating a launch before the end of the year—just in time for the holiday season. Other Apple fanatics, however, say that it won't be happening until early 2015.
The latest versions of the Macbook Air feature an 11-inch and a 13-inch model. The upcoming Macbook Air is said to feature a 12-inch screen as predicted by Ming-Chi Kuo, analyst for KGI Securities, as reported by Mac Rumors.
Mich-Chi Kuo predicted, "We expect the unprecedented 12" model will boast both the portability of the 11" model, and productivity of the 13" model. The high resolution display will also offer the outstanding visual experience of the Retina MacBook Pro. The offering will likely be lighter and slimmer than the existing MacBook Air to further highlight ease of portability in the cloud computing era."
According to a report from Digitimes, Apple has "started production of 12-inch MacBook Air in small volumes in October and will gradually increase output beginning November, according to sources with Taiwan's supply chain."
The report further explained that the production is yet to reach a satisfactory yield rate and that the "component makers and Quanta are making efforts to hike yield rates for the time being."
The report also suggests that the new Macbook Air will come with a Retina touch screen. Whether these rumors are true, we might have to wait to find out.
