MacBook Pro 2016 release date, news, rumors: Upcoming Mac Pro to permanently replace MacBook Air?
Apple Incorporated may not yet formally announced the development of the 2016 MacBook Pro model, but the public has already been anticipating its arrival this year since the last quarter of 2015. The rumors are rife that the Cupertino-based tech giant is going to release the latest device later this year, although the 2016 MacBook Pro's arrival may spell the end of the company's MacBook Air line.
The last big event of Apple this year made no mention of the new MacBook Pro laptops coming this year. To note, the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) of the company last Jue primarily focused on their devices' operating system, and perhaps the very highlight of that event is the unveiling of the latest iOS 10 for iPads and iPhones. There were no heads up given for Apple's laptop offerings for the coming months, although many tech enthusiasts believe that the next event will already showcase the new MacBook Pro.
While the reports so far point to the release of the new MacBook Pro model, there is still no information if Apple will update the MacBook Air laptop this year. However, Game N Guide reported that the anticipated release of the MacBook Pro 2016 will replace the Mac Air. The company will no longer be expected to release the new Air laptops.
It is not confirmed, however, if the latest MacBook Pro model will put the MacBook Air updates to a stop. Mashable reported that Apple will not necessarily discontinue the Mac Air brand, but so far it is more likely that the MacBook Pro will get the update this year. If not this 2016, the new MacBook Air may arrive next year or later.
With regards to the release of MacBook Pro 2016, Mac World reported that the device will be released within the last quarter of this year. On the other hand, the rumored specs features of the device at this point are already impressive. As reported by Yibada, the Touch ID function of the new MacBook Pro is a possibility, as Apple has already announced that the future MacBook laptops will be running on the new Mac operating system called the MacOS Sierra.
The new features of this new MacOS include a fingerprint sensor technology. This further supports the rumor that the new MacBook Pro units will be having a fingerprint reader. The biometric features of MacBook Pro 2016 are said to work perfectly with the Touch ID mechanism already featured by the iPhone and iPad
