MacBook Pro 2016 release date, specs news: Flagship laptop to run on Intel's Kaby Lake?
While many people are focusing on the upcoming release of Apple's new iPhone 7, some fans are wondering if the highly anticipated MacBook Pro 2016 will come out along with the new flagship smartphone. Previous reports suggest that both the new iPhone and MacBook Pro 2016 will be launched at a company event next month. However, this has yet to be confirmed by the Cupertino-based company.
It has also been reported that the new flagship laptop will carry an OLED touch bar, which will replace the traditional function keys right above the keyboard.
According to a report by Forbes, the new MacBook Pro 2016 will come out slimmer and lighter than its predecessors. It will have the OLED touch panel paired with a new butterfly keyboard switch. It will also carry a Touch ID feature and a USB Type-C port along with Thunderbolt 3 for better and more efficient data transfers.
Although it has yet to be confirmed, 9to5Mac suggests that the upcoming laptop will run on Intel's latest processor, the Kaby Lake. The seventh generation core processor from Intel is said to improve the overall performance of the device. The only problem is, the chipset won't be available until later this year. There are speculations suggesting that Apple might use the current Skylake processor as they are said to be committed on releasing the laptop before the year ends. The device will also carry an impressive graphics technology with AMD's latest Polaris 11.
Meanwhile, the MacBook Pro 2016 will carry 1 TB of internal storage capacity, Game N Guide reported. It is also expected to run on Apple's latest operating system, the macOS Sierra.
As of the moment, Apple has yet to confirm these reports. Interested buyers are advised to wait for the company to make an official announcement before making any assumptions.
