'Madam Secretary' season 3 episode 13 spoilers, news: Rabbi's death jeopardizes Iran–Israel peace deal; star Tim Daly breaks both legs in skiing accident
Elizabeth (Téa Leoni) and Jay's (Sebastian Arcelus) peace treaty plans for two countries are jeopardized on the upcoming episode of "Madam Secretary" season 3.
Titled "The Beautiful Game," next week's episode will see the major repercussions of an individual's death. According to the official synopsis, an influential rabbi organizing a symbolic Iran–Israel soccer game is murdered. As a result, Jay and Elizabeth's peace treaty plans for the two countries might just go to waste.
Elizabeth receives good news about her name being floated for a Nobel Peace Prize, while Jay's work on the Iran–Israel peace deal begins to negatively affect his personal relationships — particularly his marriage. Elsewhere, Daisy (Patina Miller) makes an interesting connection with a new co-worker named Kevin Park (guest star Justin Baldoni).
On another note, the producers of the show might need to rewrite part of the current season after lead actor Tim Daly's recent skiing accident. Daly, who plays Elizabeth's husband, Henry, sustained injuries and broke both of his legs while on vacation. Reports say that Daly is set to have a surgery this week, and the actor is expected to need six to eight weeks to recover.
Writers and producers are now weighing several options for Daly's character. To date, it remains unclear whether the actor's injury will be incorporated into the plot or not. Despite his broken legs, Daly is expected to appear in every episode of season 3 since he portrays a key character. Variety notes that an insider close to the production said "Madam Secretary" may already be far enough along in its filming schedule that it won't have to make big adjustments to accommodate the actor's injury. Sunday's episode is the 13th out of the 23-episode season 3.
The third season of "Madam Secretary" airs every Sunday night at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
