'Major Crimes' season 5 episode 13 spoilers: Is it the end of 'White Lies' and Buzz's investigation?
Monday's episode of "Major Crimes" season 5 was a continuation of the previous week's events, which saw the death of one of Major Crimes Division's members. The episode likewise showed Captain Sharon Raydor struggling with her actions in "White Lies, Part 1."
The Sept. 5 episode (11) of "Major Crimes" season 5 mentioned above had Captain Raydor (Mary McDonnell) shooting Dwight Darnell (Brett Davern) after the latter launched a shooting spree in the courthouse where his case was being heard. The shootout took one too many lives, including the life of Chief Russell Taylor (Robert Gossett).
Monday's episode, "White Lies, Part 2," revealed that Raydor wasn't a bit sorry for killing Darnell, and in fact says she talked things over with her priest. Nevertheless, she was worried that her lack of remorse might turn her into a monster. She even admitted that she was never scared of doing her job, at least not until the white supremacy case went out of control.
The entire case dealt with Darnell's apparent dislike of people and families of color, which prompted him to purposely target and murder them. So technically, his death was justifiable.
However, the team's investigation of the mass shootout revealed a bigger conspiracy behind Darnell's motives. In fact, a neo-Nazi organization might have been at the forefront of the shootout, under the leadership of Jordan Graff.
Still, the episode ended with no development on the white supremacy case, as well as what was going on with the Z brotherhood. The only positive thing that came out of it was on the part of Buzz's (Phillip P. Keene) investigation of his father and uncle's murder.
The summer finale of "Major Crimes" season 5, episode 13 titled "White Lies, Part 3," will probably see an end to the white supremacy case and Buzz's investigation. Carter Matt shared the synopsis for the said episode:
"Major Crimes hurtles forward towards the mysterious and elusive mastermind in the Dwight Darnell murders while Buzz and Rusty's investigation into the murder of Buzz's father comes to an unexpected end."
Seeing as how only 13 episodes were initially ordered for "Major Crimes" season 5, it is assumed that the summer finale will be conclusive.
"Major Crimes" season 5 episode 13 is airing on Monday, Sept. 19 at 10 p.m. on TNT. Stay tuned for more updates about the episode.
