'Marvel vs Capcom 4' gameplay news, release date: Game to feature less 'X-Men' characters
Capcom is reportedly developing "Marvel Vs. Capcom 4" and they will be launching in sometime next year. However, the upcoming title, unlike the preceding games in the series, will feature less characters from "X-Men" and more on the characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Although rumors about the upcoming game have been circulating online, the studio has yet to officially confirm the development of the game. On the other hand, leaks have been popping online, showing the video game logo with a number four on it. In addition, the photo showed the logo for Marvel, Capcom, and PlayStation 4. Hence, gamers have gotten even more excited for the fourth installment of the series. As revealed in the leak, the game will reportedly be unveiled next year. A NeoGaf users named Ryce recently confirmed the rumors and teased that the title will be launched at Sony' PlayStation Experience event this Dec. 3.
According to Polygon, "Marvel Vs. Capcom 4" will indeed be launched this Saturday. The news outlet reported that the game's roster will feature more characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Characters from "The Avengers" and "Guardians of The Galaxy" are expected to show up in the game; however, it will not feature as much characters from the "X-Men" series. The game will be the first in the series to exclude the well-favored "X-Men" characters Wolverine and Magneto. On the other hand, Ant-Man and Groot might be appearing in the game.
The latest game in the franchise, "Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3" was released in late 2011. Years of waiting for the sequel are making gamers anxious and excited for the next title. If the rumors are true, Capcom will announce the game at the PSX event which will take place in Anaheim, California.
