'Mass Effect: Andromeda' release date, latest news: BioWare releases pre-order trailer featuring multiplayer gameplay
Electronic Arts has recently released a new "Mass Effect: Andromeda" trailer, which highlights the upcoming game's exclusive pre-order content, and shows a glimpse of its multiplayer mode.
As reported by Trusted Reviews, in pre-ordering the latest entry in the epic sci-fi video game franchise, gamers will get to receive a range of skins and items which can be used in the game's campaign and multiplayer modes.
The majority of the perks included in the pre-order content are cosmetic upgrades, and they will not give players any significant advantage over other gamers in the video game's online competition. However, the featured XP boosters will reportedly make climbing up the ranks much easier.
Pre-ordering the standard edition of "Mass Effect: Andromeda" will grant gamers a Deep Space Explorer Armor, a Unique Nomad Skin, and a Multiplayer Booster Pack. If gamers pre-order the game's Deluxe Edition, they get to enjoy more exclusive items, including a Pathfinder Elite Weapon Set, a Scavenger Armor, a copy of the Digital Soundtrack, a Multiplayer Deluxe Launch Pack, and more.
The Super Deluxe Edition of "Mass Effect: Andromeda" is also available for pre-order. Among its exclusive content include a Deep Space Explorer Armor, a Multiplayer Booster Pack, a Multiplayer Deluxe Launch Pack, a Multiplayer Super Deluxe Booster Packs, and more.
As for the gameplay featured in the latest pre-order trailer of the video game, the clips shared appears to be of the game's multiplayer mode, and they showcase the characters using Biotic powers. As mentioned in the trailer, the footage displayed is captured "in engine" and is "representative of the game experience."
According to Gamespot, even though Bioware has not shared many details about the multiplayer mode of "Andromeda," the clips shared in the latest trailer hints that it is similar to that of "Mass Effect 3." The multiplayer mode in "Mass Effect 3" involved players fighting against waves of AI-controlled enemies. Weapons and items could also be delivered through loot boxes, and they are used to customize game characters to be more powerful.
"Mass Effect: Andromeda" is set for release on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on March 21 in North America, and on March 23 in Europe.
