After being plagued with compelling rumors that lead star Dylan O'Brien would no longer be returning for the "Maze Runner 3: The Death Cure," latest reports currently claim that the young actor is scheduled to return to film his scenes in the movie as early as February 2017.

Fans of the actor and the movie franchise may recall that the production of the third "Maze Runner" movie was put on hold after O'Brien, who plays the film's main character, had an accident while shooting an action sequence for the movie back in March. After falling off his safety vehicle, the actor suffered a concussion, a facial fracture, and several lacerations.

According to Deadline, sources reveal that the production will commence again in February next year. The production date was supposed to continue this May, but it was later postponed, along with the release date, to allow O'Brien more time to properly recover from his injuries.

Despite the speculations that he may no longer be able to return for the third firm, reports claim that the actor has recently been spotted in the production of the "American Assassin" movie which was being filmed in Rome. His participation in this film has been speculated to mean that the "Teen Wolf" has completely healed from his injuries and is now fit to work on the "Maze Runner 3" movie again.

Aside for O'Brien reprising his lead role as Thomas, stars coming back for the "Maze Runner: The Death Cure" include Katherine McNamara as Sonya, Kaya Scodelario as Teresa, Nathalie Emmanuel as Harriet, Thomas Brodie-Sangster as Newt, Giancarlo Esposito as Jorge, Rosa Salazar as Brenda, and Barry Pepper as Vince.

The "Maze Runner: The Death Cure" film will cover the story of the last book of the "Maze Runner" trilogy written by James Dashner. Fox had pushed the release date of the "Maze Runner: The Death Cure," directed by Wes Ball, from the previous schedule of Feb. 17, 2017 to a much later date of Jan. 12, 2018.
