'Maze Runner: The Death Cure' release date, news: Star Dylan O'Brien back on his feet after accident
Fans were distraught when news came out that Dylan O'Brien, the star of the "Maze Runner" franchise, was involved in a serious accident during the production of "Maze Runner: The Death Cure" in March.
He fell off his safety vehicle and was dragged under it.The accident had given him a concussion, a facial fracture and lacerations.
After the accident, O'Brien disappeared from the public eye for awhile but the good news is that O'Brien is out and about. Recently, he has been spotted getting back to work.
According to Tribute, O'Brien has been spotted on the set of the upcoming film "American Assassin" which is shooting in Rome. The movie is said to focus on a Cold War veteran and a CIA black ops recruit as they hold an investigation on seemingly random attacks. O'Brien will be joined by stars like Taylor Kitsch, Michael Keaton and Scott Adkins.
O'Brien's accident delayed production for "Maze Runner: The Death Cure" indefinitely, but with him feeling a lot better, the movie now has a more solid release date. Originally slated to arrive in February 2017, it has now been pushed back for a January 2018 release date.
"Death Cure" will be the third movie for the "Maze Runner" franchise which is based on a young adult book series by James Dashner. Though this is considered to be the last installment in the "Maze Runner" story line, a prequel titled "The Kill Order" has also been released. There are no announcements yet on whether this will be turned into a movie as well, but with the YA movies being a huge hit in the box office as of now, it's likely that the producers will find a way to expand the movie universe.
"Maze Runner: The Death Cure" is slated for a release this coming January 2018.
