Meghan Trainor 'All About That Bass' Song Still At Top Spot On Its 4th Week
"All About That Bass" by Meghan Trainor has remained at the top of the pop chart for four consecutive weeks now. It is now tied with Clean Bandit's "Rather Be."
"All About That Bass" is now recognized as the "longest-running number one track for 2014," according to BBC.
The song comes with a message about body acceptance, which has gained so much appreciation and approval from listeners.
The hit tune is about the celebration of men and women of big sizes and shapes.
Part of its lyrics goes: "It's pretty clear I ain't no size 2, but I can shake it, shake it like I'm supposed to do" and "Every inch of you is perfect from the bottom to the top."
Trainor wrote the song with the concept of self-esteem, being a plus size herself.
In an interview, Meghan said, "I wrote this song because I myself struggle with this concept of self-acceptance. It was written from a real place so I'm glad that other people can relate to it."
Meanwhile, Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud" is now on the number two spot, along with "Bum & Grind 2014" by Waza & Odyssey.
At Number 4 is "Bang Bang" from Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj. Securing the fifth spot is Taylor Swift's "Shake it Off."
"UKIP Calypso" was recently forcibly withdrawn following "racist" complaints. It is now at number 44. Singer/Songwriter Mike Read has already apologized for his song, saying, "I am so sorry that the song unintentionally caused offense. I have told the record company to withdraw the single immediately."
