Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe Night Edition release date, specs news: Exclusive two-door model to debut at Detroit Auto Show 2017

Mercedes-Benz has announced that its luxurious S-Class Coupe will get an exclusive Night Edition model that will make its debut at the North American International Auto Show, also known as the Detroit Auto Show, in January 2017. The two-door coupe comes with a stylish design, a refined driving experience and state-of-the-art technologies.

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe Night Edition will come in three models. The S 400 4MATIC Coupe will be powered by a 3.0-liter V6 engine that produces 367 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. It can go from 0 to 62 miles per hour (mph) in 5.6 seconds and attains a top speed of 155 mph. Meanwhile, the S 500 Coupe and the S 500 4MATIC Coupe are both powered by a 4.7-liter V8 engine that delivers 455 horsepower and 516 pound-feet torque. It can go from standstill to 62 mph in just 4.6 seconds and also attains a top speed of 155 mph.

The upcoming special edition vehicle also features exclusive design cues like a distinct radiator grille and 20-inch AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels. The single louvre on the front fascia, the exterior mirror housings and inserts in the side sill panels are in high-gloss black. The coupe also comes standard with AMG styling for its front and rear aprons. There are also "Night Edition" badges found on the front wings and illuminated door sills.

Inside the cabin, interiors are modern and luxurious. The AMG sports steering wheel in nappa leather comes with "Night Edition" badging. Meanwhile, the leather upholstery can be availed in an all-black or two-tone leather color scheme. It is paired with a poplar wood trim.

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe Night Edition is scheduled to arrive in Europe in April 2017. It will be launched in the United States in August 2017.

Pricing and more technical specs of the S-Class Coupe Night Edition will be announced by Mercedes-Benz when it makes its world premiere at the Detroit Auto Show, to be held on Jan. 8–22, 2017.
