Mi Note vs iPhone 6 Plus Comparison: Review of Specs, Price - Xiaomi Offers Cheaper Alternative To Apple
Xiaomi recently launched its Mi Note phablet, positioning itself as a direct competitor to Apple's iPhone 6 Plus. With a bigger display and topnotch specs, the Mi Note is destined to be a much cheaper alternative to the device from Apple.
Comparing their design, the iPhone 6 Plus has the standard aluminum unibody from Apple and has a premium look and feel. On the other hand, the Mi Note has a metal frame with curved Gorilla Glass 3 covering its front and back panel.
As for their display, the Mi Note has a 5.7-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 386 pixels per inch. The iPhone 6 Plus, meanwhile, has a LED-backlit IPS LCD screen measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 401 pixels per inch. Comparing their screen to body ratio, the Mi Note has 74.4 percent while the iPhone 6 Plus has 67.8 percent.
The specs on the two phones are very different with the iPhone 6 Plus featuring an Apple A8 chipset, Dual-core 1.4 GHz Cyclone CPU and a PowerVR GX6450 GPU with quad-core graphics. As for the Mi Note, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801chipset, Quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU. Coming to RAM, the iPhone 6 Plus has 1 GB while the Mi Note has 3 GB.
However, both devices do not have any microSD slot; hence, external storage cannot be added.
As for their cameras, the iPhone 6 Plus has an 8 megapixel camera with phase detection and optical image stabilization. The Mi Note has a superior 13 megapixel camera with autofocus and optical image stabilization.
Finally in terms of price, the 16 GB Mi Note is expected to have a $371 price tag when it is released this month in China. The iPhone 6 Plus is priced at $749 without a contract.
