As days go on, it appears the number of teams wanting Sacramento Kings star Rudy Gay continues to grow.

Now, talks are circulating that the Miami Heat are also hoping to land the versatile player before the start of the new season.

According to reports, signing the player would be a reasonable movve for the Heat, and Gay may also be open to a move to South Beach to find himself some playoff basketball next season.

Others also believe that Gay would prefer to move to Miami instead of other teams since it would still give him enough playing time as he would still be one of the main guys in the team.

Another team strongly linked to Gay are the San Antonio Spurs, but it is believed that if Gay makes a move to Texas, he would lead the team's second team instead of being a starter.

Finally, there are also reports claiming that the Heat regret letting Dwyane Wade walk away. Now, it seems that the heat might be looking for a player similar in caliber as Wade so that they would still be generally the same team as they were last year.

However, it should be noted that reports also say that the Heat doesn't have enough assets to trade for Gay's $14.2 million player option.

In his last season with the Kings, Gay played a total of 70 games, starting them all. He also averaged 17.2 points and 6.5 rebounds per game while playing 34 minutes per game.

Despite his output, this is low for Gay as he has not averaged this few points since his rookie season with the Memphis Grizzlies back in the 2006-07 season.

However, his productivity should not dip too low as Gay is still 29 years old and is at his peak as an athlete.

Furthermore, Gay is also a great player on the defensive end which makes him very valuable for any team who is looking for a threat on both ends of the floor.

With all the recent talks surrounding Gay, expect him to be on the move in the coming weeks. The only uncertain thing now is his destination.
