Already with Dwyane Wade out of the Miami Heat, the South Beach franchise is looking to move forward and they are linked to another superstar, Chris Paul.

According to Ecumenical News, the Heat are continuing their rebuilding phase after Wade's departure, and if they can figure a way to get the Los Angeles Clippers All-Star guard in the lineup, then they will immediately be an East contender again.

Reports claim that the Heat are looking into trading their current point guard, Goran Dragic, to the Clippers for Paul.

It is widely rumoured that Paul is ready to opt for an early termination of his contract so that he could be a free agent next year, and the Heat are looking to make the most of it by acquiring Paul via trade instead of offering him a deal next year.

As for the Clippers, there is also a rumor that claims the Clippers are more willing to hold on to Blake Griffin than Paul so that opens up the possibility of him being dealt elsewhere.

Comparing the two, Paul is a more well-rounded player compared to Dragic. After signing a massive deal with the Heat, Dragic was less-than-impressive with the team and failed to lead them deep into the playoffs.

As for Paul, he is a proven commodity in his 11 years in the league.

Chris Paul averages 18.8 points per game, along with dishing out 9.9 assists per contest throughout his career.

He has been relatively healthy in the last two seasons and has been an All-Star player for nine straight seasons in the league.

However, his career is still lacking certain accomplishments as Paul has failed to break through and reach the NBA Finals.

Still looking for his first title in his career, a change of scenery may be fitting for Paul. Given that South Beach has been home to some of his best friends, moving to Miami may help him secure that title in the near future.
