Formula One racing champion Michael Schumacher is still fighting an uphill struggle to recover from a medical ordeal following a terrible skiing accident in the Swiss Alps nearly three years ago.

Recent updates point to a slow progress in the 47-year-old German racer's health recovery in his state-of-the-art and custom-built rehabilitation facility in Geneva estate in Switzerland. He is being attended to by a team of 15 medical specialists headed by Professor Jean-Francois Payen 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

However, the motorsport legend is still immobile and remains confined to his wheelchair, iTech Post reported. His interaction with his family is extremely restricted. There are also indications of Schumacher's apparent struggle with depression evident. His tears reportedly roll down his face as he hears the voices of his wife and children.

So far, everything remains unclear about his condition especially with the media blackout. Information regarding his medical progress is extremely scarce, leaving fans in a state of uncertainty. With his sluggish recovery, people are wondering if Schumacher would make it out alive from his coma. Nevertheless, his family remains hopeful.

Meanwhile, Michael Schumacher's son Mick is cruising to victory as he progresses in his ongoing efforts to make a name for himself in the world of motorsport that his father dominated for a long time.

As reported by Daily Mail, the 17-year-old German racer appears to have inherited his father's passion for racing evident in his current cruise to victory at the Nurburgring to secure his fourth  Formula 4 win on Saturday. The young Schumacher held his lead over Joey Mawson (second) and Mike Ortmann (third).

Mick has shown a remarkable display of talent barely a year since he took his formula racing classes. At such a young age, he seems to be on the path of establishing his career in the racing world like his father before him.

Despite his recent successes, Mick is still 39 points behind the Australian-born Mawson. There are two more competitions remaining before the finals— one in Holland with the championship taking place in Hockenheim, Germany.
