With rampant rumors circulating that Microsoft is going to launch a new Surface Book 2 along with Surface Pro 5,  fans could no longer wait for it to happen. However, they may have to wait for a few more months as reports are consistent that both laptops will arrive in early 2017.

What's even more interesting is that the new Surface Book 2 will carry a different design from its predecessor. Apart from the cosmetic upgrades, the upcoming laptop is also expected to sport advanced specs and features. It has been reported that Microsoft Surface Book 2 will become one of the first devices to run on the upcoming Intel seventh generation core processor, the Kaby Lake. The powerful chipset is expected to support 3D and 4K display, which will eventually become one of the highlights of the Surface Book 2. Another feature that will be supported by the new Intel processor is virtual reality or VR.

If rumors prove to be true, Microsoft will certainly build the next Surface Book laptop around Intel's Kaby Lake processor.

According to Windows Central, one of the design changes of Microsoft Surface Book 2 is its hinges. According to the publication, the company will close the gap in its hinges to give it a better look compared to the original Surface Book.

In a report by the BitBag, the upcoming laptop will carry 16 GB of RAM, which will be paired with its powerful processor. It will also house up to 1 TB of internal storage capacity. Just like the Surface Pro 5, the Surface Book 2 is also rumored to feature a USB Type-C connectors and ThunderBolt 3 ports.

Meanwhile, according to CIO, the upcoming machine will be sold between $900 and $1500. However, this information has yet to be confirmed by Microsoft.
